Control4 OS 3

The upgraded OS 3 operating system came equipped with over 1,000 new features and enhancements. It offers personalization and intuitive functionality, similar to the smartphones we use in our daily lives. Not only is an OS 3 system operable with the Control4 OS app on your smartphone, but you can also use your Neeo touchscreen remote, tabletop touch panels and even voice control to command the smart devices in your home. With a few simple taps, you can operate your lighting control system or whole-home audio system within your Control4 home automation system.

Partnerships

Not only did Control4 launch a hugely successful operating system in 2019, but they partnered with big names in the home automation industry. SnapAV and Control4 announced a merger in June, and in October, the SnapAV’s Pakedge line of networking equipment was expanded with the RT-3100 Gigabit router. In September, Google Assistant voice control was added to Control4 OS 3, too. Control4 partnerships with other leading industry brands offers more simplified integration and a more robust product line for dealers and therefore, you, our customers.

Looking into the Future

After such a busy year building partnerships with companies, expanding product lines, and enhancing their operating system, one would think Control4 would take a break to bask in their glory. That’s simply not the case! 2020 has much in store for Control4 dealers and our customers.

The latest offering from Control4 includes the new Neeo remote - a touchscreen and hard button combination remote that complements the Control4 OS 3 beautifully. It provides refined entertainment control with a simple interface in a sleek and intuitive remote control.

CEDIA Awards

At the 2019 Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association’s Expo in September, Control4 won numerous awards: Control4 OS 3 won Best New Software Product from CEDIA, CE Pro named Control4 as the Best Whole Home Control, TWICE awarded a Best of Show award, and Residential Systems commended OS 3 with a Best of Show Award, too.

Over 100 SnapAV products offering Control4 smart home integrations were showcased, including security cameras that notify homeowners with push notifications and snapshots, video distribution products that allow homeowners to enjoy movies in any room, and more. The future looks bright for Control4, and we can’t wait to see what they come up with next.
